Rocky The Robot Truck

Matchbox Rocky The Robot

Household-name brand Matchbox is still going strong after more than 50 years in the business, and their toys have stood the test of time.

Rocky the Robot Truck is set to take gift lists by storm this Christmas, and shows how the company has embraced the latest digital technology, and moved on from only making tiny cars that would fit in a matchbox.

At the same time, it has retained its traditional values of producing simple yet sturdy, quality toys giving hours of playing pleasure.

Rocky is the first interactive truck from Matchbox. He does all the hauling and dumping you’d expect from such a rugged machine, but Rocky is also one of the friendliest motorised vehicles around. He is painted in an appealing bright yellow, and has stacks of human features as well as a full-tilting bed. Sensor points let him know he’s hauling something.

With headlights looking uncannily like eyes, Rocky is no impersonal vehicle. He can talk to children with a stock of 100 phrases and jokes, and can rear up to do a little dance and flash his headlights. It’s hard work being a truck, and, after a long day’s hauling, loading and dumping, Rocky’s bound to fall asleep, snoring gently.

Priced at around £65, Rocky The Robot Truck is great for children aged three and upwards, and is bound to appeal to girls as well as boys. He takes four C batteries.
