LEGO have taken the world’s infamous castle and transformed it with their unique building blocks. This is where all the magic happens, and now children can create their own enchanted school with the LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle.

The 1290-piece LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle (Set No. 4842) is part of the new range of building block sets released to tie-in with the final film. It’s been a few years since the last Harry-themed LEGO sets were released, so it’s good to see some brand new sets out there. This castle is an update on previous ones released and boasts 4 different buildings with distinctive rooms that can be built, folded round, and changed to create a variety of settings.

There’s the Astronomy Tower, the Gryffindor Tower, The Great Hall, and a final building which features a partially open top tower and comes complete with Dumbledore’s Office. If you’re looking for outstanding features, get ready for a treat. This set isn’t short of them. The attention to detail is faultless, and the little extra touches make it something of a showpiece.

Look inside the knight’s armour and you’ll find Tom Riddle’s book secreted there. Have a look at Dumbledore’s Office and you’ll see the Sorting Hat, Gryffindor’s Sword, a Basilisk fang and a set of secret sliding stairs. As if that wasn’t enough, the restricted section of the library has been faithfully recreated, along with the Vanishing Cabinet inside the Astronomy Tower. And let’s not forget the thoughtful little LEGO accessories. In addition to chairs and tables, you’ll also find the fireplace Sirius used to speak to Harry, plus Gryffindor and Slytherin House banners, little food accessories, a bat, flaming torch, and a telescope. Plus a little selection of library books. Phew!

Fans of LEGO’s unique minifigures needn’t fear; all the most famous faces from the films are included in the set. LEGO Hogwarts Castle comes with Harry, Hermione, and a selection of other figures exclusive to the set. These include: Professor McGonagall, Argus Filch and his cat, Mrs Norris Professor Flitwick, Dumbledore, Professor Snape, Lord Voldemort, 2 Dementors, and a knight.
