LeapFrog Cook & Play Potsy

Cook & Play Potsy

Make a stir in the kitchen and introduce young children to the joys of whipping up a meal with Cook & Play Potsy. A brand new toy from the ingenious LeapFrog learning range, this clever little pot makes learning and food lots of fun. It’s the perfect recipe for learning success!

Cook & Play Potsy is an interactive learning tool that combines a range of educational elements under one colourful lid. Children will learn to recognise different vegetables, which encourages healthy eating from an early age. Work together to create a meal using the broccoli, peas, tomato, carrot and sweetcorn. As you pop the vegetables into Potsy, he’ll pipe up with food facts and songs designed to develop key counting and colour recognition skills.

Use the smiley spoon to stir your meal and Potsy will mix in a selection of music and rhymes based on colours and counting. He has 2 play modes – counting and cooking. Choose the counting mode and Potsy will sing songs that develop counting skills and match each food ingredient to a specific colour. Select the cooking mode and he’ll sing about nutrition and taste. All the songs encourage children to sing along, making the learning experience interactive and fun. He’ll also teach children about identifying opposites, whilst encouraging creative skills through cooking.

Use the internet to access the LeapFrog Learning Path for ideas on how to customise your child’s learning experience.

Suitable for children aged 12 months and up, LeapFrog Cook & Play Potsy is available for around £17.99.

We bought this toy for our 18 month old son as he loves to “cook” with us, so thought this would be a great choice. It comes with five foods, cheese, broccoli, sweet corn, peas and a tomato! It also has a spoon for the all important stirring!

When the foods are placed in the pot it (hopefully) tells you which item you’ve put in, but it doesn’t always get it right! It’s a great toy for teaching children colours and counting, and engaging them in pretend play, but sadly it’s very easy to lose some food along the way! It would be great if it came with a little bag for the food, or the lid “locked” on somehow. Probably brilliant for a slightly older child.
